This is a path of hope—a pilgrimage of hope through Vienna, leading to St. Stephen’s Cathedral. We warmly invite you to embark on this journey!
In the Holy Year, under the motto "Pilgrims of Hope", our Pope invites us to set out on a journey to the Jubilee Churches.
In Vienna’s city center, churches and chapels become stations on this faith journey—for all who, as pilgrims of hope, wish to walk towards the Bishop’s Church of Vienna, the heart of our city and archdiocese.
There are two ways to start this journey:
-
Begin at a church in the city center and walk towards St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
- Start from a subway station on the outskirts of the city center and follow one of the four routes.
Along the way:
In the churches, you’ll find info stands with QR codes. Scan them to discover video insights about the church, its community, its saints, and paths of hope—available in nine languages!
The four pilgrimage routes start from four major transport hubs and lead you on a spiritual journey past churches, chapels, and other places of hope—directly to the cathedral.
You decide:
Take your time to visit all the stations or choose a shorter route—at your own pace!
In the Kirchbesuch.app, each church’s page offers suggested routes. Your smartphone’s navigation can easily guide you to the next church and finally to St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
