The Franciscan Church is a place of prayer and silence – a space to entrust one's worries and petitions to the Mother of God and present them before God.
The Fatima Madonna and Austria’s Freedom
The Fatima Madonna in the Franciscan Church is a powerful symbol of faith and hope. It recalls the Marian apparitions in Fatima and played a central role in the rosary prayers for Austria’s peace before 1955 (such as the candlelight processions around the Ring, in which the Chancellor also participated). This prayer movement was initiated by the Rosary Atonement Crusade (RSK), a campaign for worldwide peace.
